Mink? at Loch Spynie

Postby varisian on Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:19 pm

I think this is a mink. I was drawn to the squawking of Black-headed Gulls circling above the edge of the loch to the east of the hide and saw the animal swimming along the edge and then getting out below where the feeders are sited. It didn't hang about and didn't seem to bother the birds at and around the feeders. Can someone please confirm?

Having seen otters many times, I am sure it is not an otter. Having also seen mink (but only once, and it was a dead roadkill one !) I think it is a mink.

Dave.
