Birdwatching at Cannich

Postby airdrieonian on Sun Jun 22, 2008 3:57 pm

Hi,
As I,ve had no response to my first request i thought I'd try again. I,m travelling north for a week 5-12 July with my family and hope to get in some good birdwatching .I will be staying near Cannich and will visit Glen affric and Corrimony. Can anyone help with particular parts of these two sites in order to maximize sighting possibilities or specific times of the day. I only took up birding seriously this year and as yet have never been in the Highland. Come on guys any help is appreciated. :)

Don't forget to go up Glenstrathfarrar - it's a gated nature reserve on the way to Cannich. Plenty wheatears, stonechats etc usually can be seen from car.
Nice waterfall beyond the quaint village of Tomich and the interesting old ruin of Guisachan house.
Enjoy your trip.
